Gallery

Photographs are one of the clearest records of what community organising actually looks like: people in a room together, learning, planning, celebrating and supporting one another. This gallery brings together images from Rainbow Pride Foundation programmes, community gatherings, awareness events and advocacy work across Fiji.

Community gatherings

Gatherings are where the network becomes visible. Members, volunteers, peer educators and allies come together to share updates, mark occasions and strengthen the relationships that make longer-term work possible. For many participants, a gathering is the first time they have been in a space where they do not have to explain themselves.

Awareness and advocacy events

Awareness events put the community's concerns in front of a wider audience. They range from public campaigns to workshops with service providers and institutions, and they are often the point at which organisations that have never considered inclusion start to do so.

Workshops and learning sessions

Workshops are the working core of the foundation's programme. Participants build practical skills — facilitation, peer education, understanding rights and services — and the sessions double as a feedback channel, telling the team which messages land and which need rethinking.

Working with partners

Partnership appears throughout these images because it is how the work gets done: ministries, service providers, civil society organisations, regional bodies and community leaders, each contributing something the foundation cannot provide alone.

Contributing a photograph

  • Ask permission from everyone who appears in the image before sending it.
  • Do not send images of people in situations where identification could put them at risk.
  • Include a short, accurate caption describing the activity and place.
  • Send the original file rather than a screenshot or a heavily compressed copy.
