Videos

Video lets the community speak in its own voice, at its own pace, to audiences that may never attend a workshop. This section collects the visual and recorded material produced by and with the Rainbow Pride Foundation: recorded sessions, community messages, campaign material and documentation of programme activity.

Why video matters here

Written reports reach funders and institutions; video reaches people. A short piece in which a community member explains, in their own words, what has changed for them can do more than several pages of analysis. It also travels through exactly the channels that information in Fiji actually moves along: shared among friends, family and community networks.

What you will find

The material in this section falls into a few broad groups. Recorded sessions and learning events capture programme content for people who could not attend. Community messages are short pieces intended to be shared. Campaign material supports specific awareness efforts. Documentation pieces record what a programme looked like in practice.

Producing responsibly

Video involves people's faces and voices, so consent is not a formality. Everyone who appears in a recording is asked for permission, told where the material will be used, and given the option to withdraw. Where identification could place someone at risk, material is shot and edited to protect them: wider framing, back-of-head shots, silhouettes or no image at all.

  • Consent is obtained before recording, not after.
  • Participants are told how the material will be used and for how long.
  • Anyone can ask for a recording to be withdrawn.
  • Editing never changes what a person meant.

Requesting a recording or a filming session

Organisations that would like material for a training session, or that would like the foundation to record an event, are welcome to get in touch. Because recording capacity and programme schedules change, please confirm availability and any consent requirements directly with the team. Where the foundation cannot film an event itself, we are usually happy to advise on how to do it in a way that protects participants.
